New efforts under way in Atlanta
In Atlanta, one of Humana’s newer Bold Goal communities, efforts are focusing on helping the senior population cope with food insecurity, loneliness, and social isolation. Specifically, Humana partners with Open Hand Atlanta, which prepares, packs and delivers nearly 5,000 healthy meals each day throughout metro-Atlanta for those who might otherwise go without. Additional food insecurity efforts include working with Food as Medicine, a new nonprofit collaboration between the Grady Health System Foundation, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Open Hand Atlanta and Wholesome Wave Georgia. Humana is supporting its food distribution and its new building construction.
