Louisville is working to focus collectively on the community’s health. The Louisville Health Advisory Board is comprised of over 70 organizations from all sectors of the community, and has grown over 20 percent each year – a signal of the growing interest in improving the health of Louisville residents 20 percent by 2020, together. Now in its fourth year of work (started fall 2015) the ongoing commitment and strength of the community board is remarkable. Through research, pilot studies, programmatic and process efforts the Louisville Health Advisory Board and Humana Louisville Bold Goal team have focused on coordinating care across the community, addressing cultural and social barriers to health, preventing suicide, and making it easier to breathe in the city.
