Addressing existing disparities
Greater Richmond has a population of over 1.3 million, and is comprised of the City of Richmond and seven counties (Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan). Greater Richmond contains a unique combination of life in urban, suburban, and rural settings. In Richmond, one of Humana’s newest Bold Goal markets efforts are targeted on addressing older adults navigate food insecurity, social isolation, and transportation.
Specifically, Humana works closely with Feed More, Central Virginia’s local Feeding America affiliate, to build collaborative programs targeted toward ending food insecurity among Central Virginia’s older adult population.
