Through a partnership with LowCountry Food Bank and their BackPack Buddies program, Humana Healthy Horizons is helping to alleviate weekend hunger among public school children with food insecurity by distributing backpacks full of nutritious food each Friday during the school year. Currently, 56 schools in South Carolina are participating in this program with approximately 4,000 children receiving food to live a healthy and active life. A 2021 community investment by Humana Healthy Horizons fed an additional 70 children this school year.
