Texas is home to the Bold Goal communities of Houston and San Antonio, our original Bold Goal community. We serve more than 1.8 million members statewide, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, dual-eligible special needs (D-SNP), Commercial and TRICARE members.
Humana and the Humana Foundation are working together with our community partners to address social determinants of health, such as food security and social connection.
Humana serves more than 1.5 million members in Texas and 25,000 Texas Medicaid beneficiaries through our 4.5-Star dual-eligible special needs plan (D-SNP). This reflects our local success with quality improvement, care management, provider engagement and value-based programs. Since 2019, Humana and the Humana Foundation have committed more than $18 million to organizations in Texas. In 2020, Humana Healthy Horizons and the Humana Foundation funded more than $2.5 million for COVID-19 relief efforts across the state.
Key partnerships include Area Agencies on Aging, No Kid Hungry, Papa, Boys and Girls Club of America, San Antonio Food Bank, Accessible Housing Austin!, Target Hunger, The Health Collaborative, Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), San Antonio Area Foundation, Greater Houston Community Foundation and many more. In addition to these impactful partnerships, in 2018, Humana committed $15 million over 10 years to create a strategic partnership with the University of Houston, supporting graduate health care professionals.
